Here I am again. I disappeared from writing for so long…

I miss the writing, but kept putting it off until I had something GRAND to say. Well I don’t. Sorry to excite you.

After seeing my psychiatrist since May 2012, I have tried many, many medications. The last one (a tricyclic antidepressant) seemed to be doing the trick. Yay! However, due to physical health issues, I was forced to stop.

I visited an urgent care clinic for a painful sinus infection. The nurse and doctor were much more concerned with my high blood pressure and rapid heartbeat. I blamed those things on anxiety and Sudafed. The doctor was not impressed with those excuses and asked that I see my Primary Care Physician if my blood pressure did not decrease after my course of antibiotics. Well it didn’t! I bought a blood pressure cuff and a heart rate app for my phone. Each day I tested each at least twice. My heartbeat was never below 100. For three weeks straight! I finally made the appointment with my doctor, and he thought the rapid heartbeat, or sinus tachycardia, was caused by my current psych drugs. With my psychiatrist’s permission, I stopped the medication to rule out them out as the cause. After following up with a Cardiologist, it turns out we cannot blame my meds. The racing heart continues and after blood work, I need a CT Scan to rule out Pulmonary Embolism. That is scheduled for tomorrow. Next Tuesday, I have an Ultrasound scheduled to look for an equipment defects (leaking valves, etc.). After that I have an appointment with Psychiatrist to figure out our next step.
